Cemex is a cement company that produces, distributes, and commercializes cement, premixed concrete, additives, and more related products. It is a global leader in construction products, with a presence in over 50 countries.
In the year 2017, Cemex wanted to implement an RMS system called Cemex Go, through which its clients could make purchases.
Through this project, construction companies were now able to make an order digitally, which was an innovative move for its time. This way Cemex was modernizing and leaving behind telephone orders.
This system would become a strategic source for the company, which is why it was essential that it worked seamlessly before its launch.
Cemex wanted a responsive application, without errors, and that charged correctly before its launch, which is why they reached Getecsa for its services to ensure that the platform had the capability of performing at an international level.
The moment of the system’s implementation was getting close, and before that, it was necessary to carry out performance tests to ensure that the system was able to maintain a production environment.
After analyzing the project, Getecsa presented suggestions for improving the quality assurance process and outlined the tools that would be used to carry out the performance tests.
The tool NeoLoad was used for tests in RTMP and SAP WebDynpro. On the other hand, LoadRunner was used for the SAP GUI process.
In Getecsa, we have a wide experience in performance testing, and according the the client’s needs, we search for the necessary tool for each project.
Initially, four sprints were carried out, in which the scenario was analyzed first, and then the scripting was made in NeoLoad. The executions started with 250 users and, after sending feedback and making corrections, they were made again with 500 users, repeating the cycle until there were no mistakes.
The test reach was international, including Mexico, the United States, and Colombia as different request points. The tests changed depending on the modules and the business needs for each country, which is why the system and test scripts were constantly adapting to the different rules of business.
Additionally, different tests were carried out: elasticity, load, breaking point, and volume tests. Likewise, different types of networks were simulated, such as WIFI, 4G, and mobile testing with different internet speeds.
Thanks to Getecsa’s implementation of performance testing, response times improved, and application errors were fixed.
Thanks to Getecsa’s solution, Cemex Go’s quality assurance process was improved, and now Cemex was able to regulate its commercialization.
